 Marriott Residences Penang Appoints Chef Yab Han Wei as Executive Chef

Penang Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Penang have appointed Yab Han Wei as Executive Chef.

Chef Yab brings more than 30 years of international culinary experience. He has held senior culinary roles with organisations including InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott International, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Wanda Hotels & Resorts, Kerry Hotel, and Avani Hotels & Resorts. His career spans multiple markets, including Malaysia, China, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Throughout his career, he has managed large-scale kitchen operations, developed dining concepts, and overseen food preparation for international events. His areas of expertise include Asian cuisine, menu development, food quality management, cost control, and culinary team leadership.

In his new role at Marriott Residences Penang, Chef Yab will lead culinary operations across both properties, overseeing kitchen teams and menu offerings across dining venues. The Penang Marriott Hotel, located on Gurney Drive, features 253 rooms along with multiple food and beverage outlets, including a specialty restaurant, an all-day dining venue, a café, and a bar and lounge.
