Air India Upgrades Delhi–Toronto Service with Boeing 787-9

Air India has announced an upgrade to its Delhi–Toronto service from 1 August 2026, introducing its new Boeing 787-9 aircraft and removing the en route fuel stop at Vienna, subject to available airspace.

The change is expected to reduce the journey time between Delhi and Toronto by almost three hours, with the flight taking around 17 hours, compared with the current journey time of about 20 hours, including the fuel stop. The return service from Toronto to Delhi will continue to operate non-stop, with a flight time of up to 16 hours.

From 1 August, Air India will also restore daily flights on the route, up from the current five weekly services. The airline had temporarily reduced frequencies during June and July 2026 due to higher fuel prices and geopolitical developments that affected operations.
