TAT Signs Five Tourism Partnerships in China

China Tourism Partnerships to Support Travel to Thailand

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has signed Letters of Intent with China Tourism Group, Utour Group, China Comfort Travel Group, Amap and TCP Group to strengthen tourism cooperation between Thailand and China. The agreements were signed on 19 July during Prime Minister H.E. Mr Anutin Charnvirakul’s official visit to China, held from 16–20 July.

The partnerships cover tour operations, digital travel services, destination marketing, mobility and visitor experiences. They are intended to improve the travel journey for Chinese visitors while supporting sustainable growth in Thailand’s tourism sector.

The agreements also reflect the continued development of the Thailand–China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, which focuses on economic cooperation, investment, digital technology, innovation and people-to-people exchanges.

Building on the implementation of the mutual visa exemption between the two countries, TAT said the initiative reinforces its long-term focus on China as an important international tourism market.

TAT Governor Ms Thapanee Kiatphaibool said the partnerships bring together travel companies, digital platforms and consumer brands to improve visitor confidence, enhance the travel experience and support long-term growth for Thailand’s tourism industry.

The Letters of Intent were signed on behalf of TAT by Miss Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai, Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and South Pacific.

According to Miss Pattaraanong, the agreements cover different stages of the visitor journey—from travel planning and booking to transport and experiences in Thailand. She said the partnerships will help develop tourism products, improve access for both group and independent travellers, raise service standards and strengthen tourism links between Thailand and China.

Five Areas of Cooperation

The partnership with China Tourism Group will focus on promoting Thai tourism products through the group’s travel network and attracting more Chinese visitors.

Working with Utour Group, TAT will promote the Amazing Thailand brand through digital campaigns while developing travel products covering leisure, wellness, weddings, honeymoons, educational visits and cultural festivals.

The agreement with China Comfort Travel Group includes destination marketing, group travel, business events, special-interest tourism, tourism intelligence, training and service standards.

Through its partnership with Amap, TAT will introduce digital travel tools, destination promotion and Thai-Chinese travel information services to improve convenience for independent travellers.

Under the Energetic Thailand campaign, TAT and TCP Group will collaborate on tourism experiences linked to sport, music, health and lifestyle, while supporting destination promotion, business events and tourism-related economic activity.

TAT said it will continue working with industry partners on joint marketing, tourism product development, travel facilitation and service improvements to support safe, convenient and well-connected travel experiences for visitors from China.
