Air India Introduces Matchday Buffet at Mumbai Lounges for FIFA Final
Air India marked the FIFA World Cup final on 20 July by offering a themed dining experience at its Mumbai International (Adani Lounge) and Domestic Lounges. The airline introduced curated menus of food and desserts for passengers travelling through Mumbai during the final.
The special menu was available from the evening high-tea service until the end of the match, allowing guests to enjoy the football final while relaxing in the airline’s lounges.
International Lounge Menu
The Mumbai International Lounge served a live appetiser buffet featuring vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, including Chicken in a Blanket, Japanese Chicken Ball Skewers, Leek and Mushroom Croquettes, Vegetable Tofu Wontons, Cheesy Quinoa Cakes, Togarashi Corn Ribs, and Loaded Potato Wedges.
Guests also had a choice of accompaniments such as tomato salsa, sour cream, pico de gallo, sliced jalapeños and refried beans, along with freshly prepared breads including Garlic Parmesan Knots and Basil Pesto Pinwheels.
The dessert selection included themed cupcakes inspired by the tournament and celebration cakes designed around the finalist teams’ jerseys.
Domestic Lounge Dessert Menu
The Domestic Lounge offered a dessert buffet featuring a selection of international desserts and Indian sweets.
The menu included Boondi and Gulab Jamun Tart, Pistachio Brownie, Wild Berry Cheesecake, Golden Caramel Swiss Roll, Black Forest Cherry Cake, Chocolate Orange Cake, Apricot Nut Delight, Fruit Puff Layers, Pineapple Delight and White Chocolate Vanilla Dessert.
The themed dining experience was part of Air India’s efforts to enhance its airport lounge offerings through curated food experiences tied to major sporting events.
