Brussels Airlines Appoints Lorenza Maggio as Chief Executive Officer

The Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG has appointed Lorenza Maggio as Chief Executive Officer of Brussels Airlines. The appointment remains subject to approval by the Board of Directors of SN Airholding.
In addition to leading the airline, she will take on the role of Executive Board Representative to the European Commission. She will succeed Dorothea von Boxberg, who will step down from her position effective 31 August 2026.
Lorenza Maggio is currently a member of the Board of Directors at ITA Airways, where she serves as Chief Strategy and Integration Officer. In this role, she is responsible for the airline’s integration into the Lufthansa Group and its strategic development.
Her previous experience includes serving as Vice President Sales for Lufthansa Group’s network airlines across Europe (excluding home markets), the Middle East, and Africa. She has also held roles in brand and customer strategy at Eurowings and served as Managing Director of a subsidiary of the LSG Group.
Based in Brussels, she will lead Brussels Airlines’ operations and strategic direction within the Lufthansa Group.

Dieter Vranckx, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SN Airholding and Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group, says: “Lorenza Maggio is a highly accomplished and internationally experienced airline executive. She knows the industry and our group from various leadership positions at different companies. With her proven expertise, she will lead Brussels Airlines as an integrated hub airline within the Lufthansa Group. I am particularly pleased that we were able to appoint a successor from within our own ranks, following Dorothea von Boxberg, whom I wish to thank sincerely for her many years of successful service to the Lufthansa Group.”
