Frontier Airlines Expands Connectivity with Starlink

Frontier Airlines has announced plans to introduce Starlink inflight WiFi, giving passengers access to high-speed internet during their journeys.

The airline expects to launch its first Starlink-equipped aircraft in early 2027, becoming the first US airline to offer passengers internet connectivity through a system managed directly by Starlink.

Improved Inflight Connectivity

Developed by SpaceX, Starlink will provide passengers with broadband internet suitable for streaming, browsing, online gaming and work-related tasks throughout the flight.

In addition to enhancing the passenger experience, the system will provide gate-to-gate connectivity for pilots, cabin crew, maintenance teams and ground staff, helping improve communication and operational efficiency.

Wider Fleet Rollout

Frontier is part of the Indigo Partners airline portfolio, alongside Wizz Air, Volaris, JetSMART and Cebu Pacific.

Together, the five airlines plan to install Starlink across more than 1,000 aircraft, supporting a wider rollout of inflight internet services across their combined fleets.

Airline Perspective

Expanding Customer Experience

The introduction of Starlink forms part of Frontier Airlines’ wider strategy to enhance onboard services through improved connectivity and updated cabin products, while continuing to focus on affordable air travel.
