LEAP East Chooses Hong Kong as Asian Host Until 2029

Hong Kong has been selected as the exclusive Asian host city for LEAP East from 2027 to 2029, following the event’s first edition in the city from 8 to 10 July 2026.

The three-day technology exhibition attracted more than 25,000 participants, with 55% international attendees and 45% local participants. The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has signed a strategic partnership with the event organizer to bring LEAP East back to the city for the next three years.

Hong Kong Secures Multi-Year Partnership

Dr Peter Lam, Chairman of the HKTB, said:

“LEAP East’s decision to return to Hong Kong over the next three years reflects confidence in the city’s role as a meeting destination and innovation hub. The event will continue to bring together technology companies, investors, research organisations and professionals, creating opportunities for collaboration across regions and industries.”

LEAP East is the first Asian edition of Saudi Arabia’s LEAP technology conference, with HKTB chosen as the inaugural host city outside the Middle East.

Mike Champion, Chief Executive Officer of Tahaluf, the organizer of LEAP East, said:

“Hong Kong’s position as a gateway connecting Mainland China, the Asia-Pacific region and international markets makes it an ideal location for LEAP East. We look forward to working with the HKTB over the next three years to strengthen connections between technology businesses in Asia and the Middle East.”

Strengthening Hong Kong’s MICE Calendar

HKTB said the city hosted more than 100 major international MICE events during the first half of 2026 and expects several international conferences and exhibitions to take place over the coming months.

Upcoming events include the World Cancer Congress, the World Congress of Food Science and Technology, the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) World Congress 2026, The Festival of Connoisseurs (TFOC) and the Lions Clubs International OSEAL Forum.

The board said it will continue working with industry partners to attract international business events that support tourism, hospitality and the wider economy.
