Chikkamagaluru Tourism Event Brings Industry Stakeholders Together
The Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS), in association with the Chikkamagaluru Resort Owners Association, concluded the three-day ‘Discover Chikkamagaluru’ destination showcase held from 16 to 18 June 2026. The event brought together government representatives, tourism professionals, buyers, media members and industry stakeholders from across India.
The programme was inaugurated by Shri M. Srinivas, Chairman of Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (KSTDC), in the presence of Shri H.D. Thammaiah, MLA, Chikkamagaluru, along with senior government officials, tourism department representatives, industry leaders and members of Karnataka’s tourism community.
The event received support from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India; the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka; KSTDC; Jungle Lodges & Resorts; Mysore Sales International Ltd.; Mysore Sandal Soaps; and several local tourism associations.
A key feature of the showcase was the Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, which brought together 150 buyers from 20 Indian states and 30 sellers from Chikkamagaluru and neighbouring destinations, including Sakleshpur, Hassan and Shivamogga. The sessions provided opportunities for networking, business discussions and future partnerships within the tourism sector.
The event also highlighted the strong collaboration between public and private stakeholders. Members of the Chikkamagaluru Resort Owners Association provided more than 500 complimentary room nights to hosted buyers, while members of the Karnataka Tourism Society supported transportation arrangements for delegates.
Several resorts across Chikkamagaluru contributed accommodation for participants, including Trivik Resort, The Silver Sky Resort, The Serai Resort, TAJ Gateway, Global Village Luxury Resort, Siri Nature Resort, Vismita County, Coffee Grove Resort, The Blossom Resort, Tranquil Terrain Resorts and Primrose Villas.
Speaking at the event, Shri H.D. Thammaiah highlighted Chikkamagaluru’s coffee heritage, natural landscapes, cultural attractions and local cuisine, noting the importance of tourism in creating opportunities for local communities.

Shri M. Srinivas, Chairman of KSTDC, said the initiative reflects Karnataka’s commitment to promoting sustainable tourism, strengthening industry partnerships and encouraging responsible travel across the state.

Dr K.V. Thrilok Chandra, IAS, Secretary, Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, spoke about the state’s diverse tourism offerings, including heritage sites, nature-based experiences, wildlife attractions and cultural destinations.

Shri K. Syama Raju, President of Karnataka Tourism Society, emphasised the organisation’s efforts to create platforms that connect tourism businesses, support local communities and promote destinations across Karnataka.

Shri Chetan M.P., President of the Chikkamagaluru Resort Owners Association, said the district continues to attract travellers with its coffee estates, hill landscapes, waterfalls, wildlife and hospitality experiences.
During the three-day programme, buyers explored Chikkamagaluru’s tourism offerings, including its coffee heritage, cultural attractions and natural surroundings. The event also helped strengthen business relationships and create new opportunities for tourism growth in the region.
The successful conclusion of the event highlights the ongoing efforts of Karnataka’s tourism stakeholders to promote the destination and encourage travel throughout the state.
