Sumit Gunturkar appointed as General Manager at Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru Rajajinagar
A hospitality professional with over 17 years of industry experience, Gunturkar has worked across business hotels, resorts, and upscale dining environments. His background spans hotel operations, team leadership, and service delivery, with a consistent focus on operational efficiency and guest experience.
Gunturkar began his career with Marriott International in 2009 and has since held multiple leadership roles across India. Most recently, he served as Hotel Manager at Fairfield by Marriott Goa Anjuna, where he was involved in strengthening operational performance, improving guest satisfaction metrics, and managing cross-functional teams in a competitive leisure market.
Earlier in his career, he held key positions including Operations Manager and roles within the Food & Beverage function, contributing to service improvements, operational efficiency, and departmental performance. He has also been associated with pre-opening support, training initiatives, and team development.
An alumnus of University of Pune, Gunturkar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality. In his new role, he will oversee overall hotel operations, with a focus on strengthening the property’s positioning among business and leisure travellers, improving operational efficiencies, and fostering a work environment that supports consistent service delivery.
