SAMHI Hotels and Indian School of Hospitality Conclude Management Development Programme

SAMHI Hotels Limited, in collaboration with the Indian School of Hospitality (ISH), has concluded the SAMHI Management Development Programme (MDP), a customised initiative designed to strengthen leadership and management capabilities among senior executives across SAMHI’s hotel portfolio.

Launched in February 2025, the programme brought together senior leaders from hotels operated under global brands including Marriott and IHG. Combining classroom learning with practical experience, the curriculum featured workshops, case studies, mentorship, and project-based assignments. Participants engaged in topics such as financial management, team leadership, sales and marketing strategy, and effective communication — key areas that support operational excellence and guest experience.

Commenting on the programme, Ashish Jakhanwala, Chairman, Managing Director & CEO of SAMHI Hotels Limited, said, “The SAMHI Management Development Programme has provided an important platform for our leaders to learn, collaborate, and exchange perspectives. The experience has helped enhance their capabilities to adapt to the evolving hospitality environment. We appreciate ISH’s partnership in delivering this initiative and look forward to continuing to invest in leadership development.”

Dilip Puri, Founder & Executive Chairman of the Indian School of Hospitality, added, “This collaboration with SAMHI Hotels has been an engaging opportunity to explore the many dimensions of leadership in hospitality. The programme encouraged participants to think critically about finance, people, and storytelling in service delivery — essential components of effective management. It was encouraging to see leaders from different brands work together and share their experiences.”

The program encouraged cross-brand collaboration, enabling participants to share insights and strategies from various operational contexts. The partnership between SAMHI Hotels and ISH demonstrates their mutual commitment to leadership development and ongoing learning in the hospitality industry.
