Qatar Airways to Relocate Operations to JFK’s New Terminal One in 2026, Introducing Its First U.S. Lounge
Qatar Airways has selected The New Terminal One at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) as its future home in New York. Beginning in 2026, the airline will relocate its operations to the new terminal and open a 15,000-square-foot Qatar Airways lounge, its first dedicated lounge in New York City and the United States.
The relocation to the New Terminal One and the introduction of a dedicated lounge at JFK underscore Qatar Airways’ focus on enhancing the travel experience and highlight the importance of New York City within the airline’s U.S. network.
The lounge will provide direct access to the boarding gate, offering a streamlined journey for Business Class passengers. The facility will feature premium food and beverage options, relaxation areas, prayer rooms, children’s play zones, dining spaces, duty-free retail, and dedicated check-in services.
Developed in partnership with The New Terminal One, the new space will integrate with the terminal’s modern design and advanced infrastructure to support a smooth passenger journey from arrival through departure.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said:
“We are pleased to begin operations at JFK’s New Terminal One and to introduce our first lounge in the United States. This facility will offer our premium passengers a seamless and comfortable airport experience that aligns with our standards of service.”
The New Terminal One CEO, Jennifer Aument, said:

“We welcome Qatar Airways as one of our airline partners at JFK’s New Terminal One. Their decision reflects the value this terminal will bring to international carriers and the millions of passengers who travel through New York each year.”
The New Terminal One forms part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion redevelopment of JFK Airport. The program includes new and modernized terminals, upgraded ground transport facilities, and a redesigned roadway network.
Qatar Airways first began serving New York in 2008 from Terminal 8. Today, the airline operates 18 weekly flights from JFK, connecting passengers to more than 170 global destinations through its hub in Doha.
