IndiGo and Axis Bank Launch Co-Branded Credit Cards Linked to BluChip

IndiGo and Axis Bank have partnered to launch co-branded credit cards tailored to the evolving spending and travel habits of Indian consumers. The partnership offers two options—the IndiGo Axis Bank Credit Card and the IndiGo Axis Bank Premium Credit Card—both linked to the airline’s loyalty program.

The co-branded cards are designed to allow customers to earn BluChips on everyday purchases and travel, with higher rewards for transactions made through the airline’s channels. Cardholders also receive welcome and renewal benefits, milestone-based rewards, and various lifestyle privileges, including lounge access, dining and entertainment offers, and reduced foreign exchange markup, depending on the card type.

The Credit Card costs ₹799 plus GST and targets retail customers, providing a mix of travel rewards and lifestyle perks. Meanwhile, the IndiGo Axis Bank Premium Credit Card, priced at ₹5,000 plus GST, offers customers a wider range of travel and lifestyle benefits.

Both cards will be available on the RuPay and Visa payment networks.

Neetan Chopra, Chief Digital and Information Officer at IndiGo, said the partnership with Axis Bank supports the airline’s focus on enhancing value for its frequent flyers by converting everyday spending into IndiGo BluChips, while combining IndiGo’s service offering with Axis Bank’s banking network.

Arnika Dixit, President & Head – Cards, Payments and Wealth Management at Axis Bank, stated that the collaboration brings together banking and travel to provide customers with rewards, travel-related benefits, and access to lifestyle privileges across different usage segments.

Commenting on the RuPay launch, Sohini Rajola, Executive Director at National Payments Corporation of India, said the partnership aligns with NPCI’s focus on delivering secure, scalable digital payment solutions and offers customers a structured rewards framework.

Rishi Chhabra, Country Manager, India at Visa, noted that the Visa co-branded cards are designed to combine travel-led rewards with lifestyle privileges, reflecting changing consumer expectations around payment experiences.

The co-branded credit cards aim to combine travel rewards with everyday spending, giving customers more opportunities to engage with the airline’s loyalty program while enjoying banking and payment benefits.
