IHG’s Vignette Collection Marks 10 Open Hotels in Greater China
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced that its Vignette Collection brand has reached 10 open hotels in Greater China, reflecting the continued expansion of the group’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio across the region.
As travel preferences shift toward more personalized and experience-led stays, guests are placing greater importance on a hotel’s connection to its destination, along with the stories and sense of meaning associated with their visit. Vignette Collection is designed to respond to this trend by offering hotels that retain their individual character while delivering stays rooted in the local context.
Part of IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio, Vignette Collection brings together a curated group of distinctive hotels, each shaped by its own narrative and sense of place. The brand supports a range of development and conversion models, providing owners with a flexible pathway to reposition existing properties and unique projects, while preserving their identity and enhancing guest experiences.

Jerome Qiu, Chief Operating Officer, IHG Greater China, said the milestone reflects steady progress in the brand’s regional development. He noted that as travellers increasingly seek authenticity and meaningful engagement with destinations, Vignette Collection offers an approach that thoughtfully reintroduces hotels with strong character and heritage under a global platform.
Since its global launch in 2021 and entry into Greater China in 2023, Vignette Collection has expanded across key cities and lifestyle destinations. By respecting the original architecture and cultural context and leveraging IHG’s operational capabilities, the brand supports the renewal and upgrade of established properties while allowing them to evolve without losing their original identity.

Palm Springs Hotel Chengdu, Vignette Collection, is one such example, integrating Vignette Collection brand elements into its design and service experience while maintaining its existing character. These projects contribute to a more diverse hospitality landscape, offering travellers differentiated urban stay experiences.
Central to the brand is its focus on One-of-a-Kind Stays, with each hotel delivering an experience shaped by its location. Signature Memorable Rituals are incorporated to create moments designed to resonate with guests beyond their stay. At TFT Chongqing, Vignette Collection, for example, guests can personalize artistic key cards and engage with a custom fragrance experience linked to the destination.

Guided by its “A Means for Good” ethos, Vignette Collection also incorporates social and environmental responsibility into its operations. At THE ONE Shanghai Downtown, Vignette Collection, the hotel works with local artists and community partners to display artwork in public spaces, with proceeds supporting creative education initiatives. These collaborations encourage guest interaction with the local community and add context to the stay experience.
Currently, Vignette Collection operates 10 hotels in Greater China, with additional projects in the pipeline. As the portfolio grows, IHG Hotels & Resorts plans to further develop the brand’s presence in the region, focusing on destination-led storytelling, urban renewal, and experience-driven travel.
