IHCL Announces The Signing Of A Taj In Mysore

Taj has been named the World’s Strongest Hotel Brand and India’s Strongest Brand for 2024, as per Brand Finance

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a hotel in Mysore. This conversion project marks the Taj brand’s debut in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, IHCL said, “Driven by growing presence of manufacturing and IT sectors, Mysore an established leisure destination is now fast becoming a diversified hospitality market. As a gateway to destinations like Coorg, Kabini, Bandipur and Ooty, it attracts a significant mix of domestic and international travellers. The signing of this hotel reflects our commitment to expanding the Taj brand in key markets across India. We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with DM South India Hospitality.”

Located at the foot of Chamundi Hills and with views of Mysore Palace, the Taj Mysore boasts 141 rooms and exhibits an Indo-Saracenic style that reflects the city’s historical architecture. Spanning 5.03 acres, this centrally located hotel is adjacent to the Mall of Mysore, offering views of a golf estate and the Mysore Zoo. Guests can enjoy a variety of dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a specialty restaurant, and a lounge. The hotel also offers a spa, gym, and swimming pool. Additionally, Taj Mysore features over 11,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space, making it ideal for corporate and social gatherings.

Mysore, recognized as the cultural capital of Karnataka, boasts a historical and cultural heritage. The city is famous for its palaces, monuments, and traditions. Notable sites like the Mysore Palace, Chamundi Hills, and Brindavan Gardens attract visitors worldwide. With this new hotel, IHCL will expand its portfolio to 23 hotels in Karnataka, including 10 currently under development.
