Centara Signs Centara Life Osaka, Expanding Presence in Japan

Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Centara Life Osaka, marking the group’s second property in Japan and supporting its ongoing expansion in the market.

Located in central Osaka, the 300-key hotel sits within walking distance of several train and subway stations and is positioned just 450 metres from Centara Grand Hotel Osaka. This proximity is expected to create an operational ecosystem between the two properties, strengthening operational efficiency, alignment of guest experience, and brand visibility in Japan.

The hotel will undergo a complete refurbishment before reopening under the Centara Life brand in Q2 2026. The project value is estimated at JPY 12.7 billion, including JPY 5.3 billion in equity investment—funded equally by CENTEL (Central Plaza Hotel Public Company Limited) and Taisei Corporation—and approximately JPY 7.4 billion in project financing.

Centara Life, one of the group’s six brands, focuses on contemporary, lifestyle-oriented stays with modern design and essential comforts. Centara Life Osaka will serve both business and leisure travellers seeking practical amenities and accessible urban experiences, complemented by Centara’s Thai-inspired hospitality.

“We are pleased to expand our presence in Japan through this new signing, which reflects our ongoing collaboration with Taisei Corporation,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, Chief Executive Officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts.

“Following Centara Grand Osaka, this addition allows us to further share our hospitality approach in a key city. Working with our partner, we aim to provide a lifestyle-focused experience and encourage strong alignment between our two Osaka properties.”
