Severance at 30,000 Feet: Apple Originals Now Playing on United

Travellers can watch episodes during short-haul flights and continue where they left off on future flights, or view full seasons on long-haul routes.

Apple TV+ Seasons Now Streaming Free on United Flights

United Airlines has announced that full seasons of select Apple TV+ series are now available at no cost on the airline’s 130,000+ seatback screens and in the United app. Titles include Severance, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, Silo, and others.

As part of its growth plan, the airline has installed seatback screens in every seat and recently unveiled a new aircraft interior featuring Bluetooth-enabled, 27-inch, 4K OLED screens. The airline plans to have more than 300,000 screens across its fleet as it adds new aircraft and updates existing ones.

Apple Originals will be available on a dedicated Apple TV+ channel, starting with the whole first seasons of Severance, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, and Silo. The Morning Show and Bad Sisters will be added in September, with additional series, documentaries, and films introduced monthly.

United Airlines and Apple have previously collaborated on features such as Live Activities for iPhone and Apple Watch to provide real-time flight updates, AirTag integration for bag tracking, and mobile tools for employees to streamline service and communication.
