Alaska and Hawaiian Expand Hawai‘i Flights
Honolulu Adds New Boise and Spokane Services with Network Changes
Alaska Airlines, Inc., which includes Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, has announced an expansion of its seasonal Hawai‘i network with new nonstop service between Honolulu and Boise and between Honolulu and Spokane. The airlines will also increase flights between Honolulu and Las Vegas during peak travel periods.
The new routes are part of seasonal network adjustments aimed at meeting travel demand while improving connectivity between Hawai‘i and the mainland United States.
New Seasonal Routes
From mid-December 2026, Alaska Airlines will become the only airline offering nonstop flights between Honolulu and both Boise and Spokane.
The routes will be operated using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and will also provide onward connections to the Hawaiian Islands beyond O‘ahu.

Increased Capacity to Hawai‘i
Kirsten Amrine, Vice President, Network Planning and Revenue Management, Alaska Airlines, Inc., said:
“We’re excited to expand access to and from Hawai‘i with new nonstop Boise and Spokane services, giving guests in two growing markets an easier way to reach the Hawaiian Islands. These routes, along with additional service between Honolulu and Las Vegas, reflect strong demand for Hawai‘i travel and our commitment to providing more convenient options for both visitors and Hawai‘i residents travelling throughout our network.”
The airline group said the additional services, together with increased flights from California, will increase seasonal capacity to Hawai‘i by 3% year-on-year, rising to 6% during peak holiday periods.
The expansion is intended to provide more travel options for visitors while improving access for Hawai‘i residents travelling to the mainland.
Auckland Service Suspended

As part of the network changes, Hawaiian Airlines will not resume its seasonal Honolulu–Auckland service, which previously operated three times a week during the northern winter.
The airline cited several factors behind the decision, including:
- Higher fuel costs
- Slower recovery in international Pacific travel demand
- Unfavourable exchange rates
- Changing global travel patterns
Despite the adjustment, Hawaiian Airlines will continue operating international nonstop flights from Honolulu to:
- Osaka
- Pago Pago
- Papeete
- Rarotonga
- Sydney
- Tokyo
The airline also plans to strengthen its international network through its oneworld alliance partnerships.
The combined Alaska and Hawaiian network now offers more than 250 daily flights to, from, and within Hawai‘i, connecting the islands to over 20 domestic and international destinations, as well as access to more than 125 cities across North and Central America.
