Africa Calling
South African Tourism has partnered with Ethiopian Airlines to launch its #ExploreMore&MoreForLess campaign. If you're planning a trip to South Africa from India and want to save on air travel costs, Ethiopian Airlines offers its lowest-ever fares at just INR 37,839. These special fares apply to routes from Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai to Cape Town and Johannesburg. The offer is valid from September 1st to September 30th, 2024.
Available exclusively through the Ethiopian Airlines website and mobile application, customers can choose to travel anytime between October 1 and December 31, 2024, when making their bookings during the offer period. According to the offer terms, travellers can also get an extra 10% discount on the base fare. Announced at the start of the festive season, the offer allows Indian travellers to effectively plan their long-haul journeys while considering two significant occasions: Diwali and Christmas.
When travelling internationally, airfares often play a significant role in deciding where families and individuals choose to go and what they can do during their trip. In partnership with Ethiopian Airlines, South African Tourism aims to help travellers plan their itineraries more freely and enjoy their time away. As an extension of South African Tourism's popular More&More campaign, #ExploreMore&MoreForLess encourages Indian travellers to experience the 3,000 adventure activities, majestic wildlife, and diverse culinary experiences available in South Africa at a great value.
"Expressing his enthusiasm for the campaign launch, Gcobani Mancotywa, Regional General Manager for Asia, Australasia, and the Middle East at South African Tourism stated, "It gives me immense pleasure to introduce our #ExploreMore&MoreForLess campaign in collaboration with Ethiopian Airlines to Indian travellers."
"Our goal at South African Tourism is not only to promote the destination but also to make it more accessible, allowing travellers to experience our country’s warm hospitality and vibrant culture. India is one of our top three focus markets, and its contributions to South Africa’s inbound travel market are essential in achieving our long-term tourism goals. We have deep ties with India, thanks to our shared history and enduring camaraderie over the years. This campaign reflects our commitment to providing value to Indian travellers, and we invite them to explore the different facets of the Rainbow Nation this festive season".
Due to a surge in travel interest, South African Tourism experienced a 43% increase in visitors from India in 2023 compared to the previous year. Capitalizing on this growth, the tourism board's goal for 2024 is to attract over 100,000 visitors to the Rainbow Nation.
Earlier this year, South African Tourism concluded its 20th Annual India Roadshow, travelling through five cities in five days and conducting over 12,000 in-person meetings. Collaborative initiatives like these further the tourism board’s goal of attracting increasing numbers of Indian visitors to South Africa each year while offering a value-for-money proposition to travellers.
