Sterling Holiday Resorts Launches Udaipur Katha Rooftop Dining at Sterling Jaisinghgarh, Udaipur

As dining preferences across India shift from transactional meals to immersive, story-led experiences, Sterling Holiday Resorts has introduced Udaipur Katha, a rooftop dining concept at Sterling Jaisinghgarh, Udaipur. Positioned as a live-fire, open-sky culinary setting, the venue brings together regional influences, artisanal cooking, and a relaxed evening format.

Set across two elevated terraces overlooking the Aravalli ranges, Udaipur Katha frames the evening meal as a slower ritual. The space features jharokha-style cabanas, curated music, and live barbecue counters, creating an atmosphere where food is prepared and served at an unhurried pace, guided by flame and technique.

Commenting on the launch, Dileep Nair, Senior Vice President – Customer Experience, Sterling Holiday Resorts, said, “Today’s diner is seeking depth—an experience that connects them to place, people, and culture. Udaipur Katha was conceived as a space where guests can unwind at sunset, savour fire-led cooking inspired by Mewar, and let the evening linger. It is designed to be experienced, not rushed.”

Udaipur Katha is Sterling’s seventh destination-led restaurant concept, adding to the brand’s portfolio of regional dining formats across India, such as The Malabar (Sterling Wayanad), Pahaare (Sterling Darjeeling), Airavat (Sterling Aravalli Udaipur), and restaurants including Amo Odisha (Sterling Puri), Slate, and Pearl (Sterling Kodai Lake). These concepts draw from local culinary traditions and guest insights, with an emphasis on destination-driven storytelling.

The menu at Udaipur Katha focuses on live-fire cooking, with offerings that include slow-grilled Laal Maas, saffron-infused kebabs, and charcoal-fired preparations inspired by Rajasthani heritage. Vegetarian selections include Jackfruit Shashlik, Smoked Kaddu Steaks, and Churma-Stuffed Sweet Potatoes, highlighting desert produce, native spices, and traditional techniques. The dining experience is complemented by condiments and suggested beverage pairings, including spirits and locally inspired mocktails.

Desserts such as Ghewar Cheesecake and Baked Churma Tart add contemporary interpretations of familiar flavours.

The launch aligns with the growing preference for rooftop and open-sky dining in heritage destinations, reflecting a wider shift toward experience-led evening dining. For Sterling, Udaipur Katha is positioned as a destination dining format that turns rooftop spaces into social settings centred on food, atmosphere, and memory.

Udaipur Katha is located at Sterling Jaisinghgarh, Udaipur, and is open for dinner service. Prior reservations are recommended.
