New Bath Hotel & Spa Joins Radisson Individuals Portfolio in the UK
New Bath Hotel & Spa, now part of Radisson Individuals, has opened in Matlock Bath, introducing a heritage-led hospitality experience that combines wellness, history, and contemporary comfort in the Derbyshire countryside.
Housed in an 18th-century building, the hotel features 54 guest rooms that retain period character while incorporating modern amenities. Designed as a retreat for rest and relaxation, the property blends its historic setting with a calm, wellness-focused atmosphere.
A historic outdoor lido at the centre
A key feature of the hotel is its outdoor lido, a naturally heated open-air swimming pool dating back to the 1930s. Supplied by local mineral spring waters, the pool remains a rare example of its kind in the UK. Set within landscaped gardens and overlooking the Derbyshire countryside, the lido continues a long tradition of restorative bathing associated with the area.
Spa and wellness facilities

The hotel spa offers a range of ESPA treatments, along with a hot tub, sauna, and steam room. Open to both resident guests and day visitors, the spa builds on the property’s historic links to wellbeing while providing contemporary facilities.
Dining and event spaces

Guests can dine at The Fountain Restaurant, which serves dishes inspired by regional produce from Derbyshire and the Peak District. The hotel bar offers a relaxed setting for light meals, afternoon tea, or drinks.
For events and meetings, the hotel provides two function spaces:
The Ballroom, suitable for events of up to 150 guests
The Derwent Room, designed for smaller gatherings and meetings of up to 40 people
Location and nearby attractions

The hotel is within walking distance of attractions such as the Peak District Mining Museum, Gulliver’s Kingdom, and the Heights of Abraham. The wider region includes heritage sites such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Arbor Low.
Hotel Manager Suryapal Singh Negi said the hotel’s inclusion in Radisson Individuals supports its focus on personalised guest experiences while providing access to the wider Radisson Hotel Group network.

Jeop Peeters, Senior Vice President Franchise at Radisson Hotel Group, said the opening reflects the brand’s approach to destination-led hotels that are rooted in local character.
The dog-friendly hotel is located around 30 minutes from Derby, one hour from Nottingham or Sheffield, and approximately two and a half hours by train from London, making it suitable for leisure stays, retreats, and business gatherings.
