APPOINTMENT
Hyatt Regency Chennai has appointed Kanjana Nikesri as the new Asian Chef de Cuisine for the restaurant Stix. Nikesri has an impressive career background, having worked in several prestigious establishments, and brings a wealth of expertise and a strong passion for culinary excellence to the team.
Nikesri's culinary journey started with a Western Thai culinary course at Dusit Thani College, alongside her bachelor's degree in geography from Ramkhamhaeng University. She has held notable roles, including Asian Chef de Cuisine at Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai, where she excelled in menu design, food cost control, and ensuring the highest food quality. Her expertise encompasses various Asian cuisines, including Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian, Korean, and Japanese.
Before Sahara Star, Nikesri worked at Ariyasub Co. Ltd and The Chedi Muscat Hotel in Oman, where her responsibilities included menu design, food cost control, and staff training. She also held key positions at Kempinski Ishtar Dead Sea, OZO Samui, Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche Hotel, and JW Marriott Hotel Dubai, beginning her career at Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach.
Nikesri has completed several training programs, including Essential Train the Trainer at Kempinski Ishtar Dead Sea and Essential Food Safety Training from the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority. Her diverse skills range from carving vegetables and fruits to preparing various Asian dishes.
As the Asian Chef de Cuisine at Stix, Nikesri will oversee all aspects of Asian culinary operations, develop and implement innovative menus, maintain high culinary standards, and ensure exceptional dining experiences for patrons.
