IHG Signs Hotel Indigo for Cairo’s New Administrative Capital

IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a management agreement with JADEER GROUP to develop Hotel Indigo Cairo New Administrative Capital, expanding its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Egypt. The 140-room hotel will form part of a mixed-use development in the New Administrative Capital, located east of Cairo, and is scheduled to open in 2033.

The hotel is expected to cater to business, government and leisure travellers visiting the rapidly developing New Capital, which is being positioned as Egypt’s administrative and commercial centre. The master-planned city features government and diplomatic districts, residential communities, commercial zones and modern infrastructure, with strong road connectivity to Greater Cairo and planned transport links.

As part of the Hotel Indigo portfolio, the property will incorporate design elements and experiences inspired by its surrounding neighbourhood. The brand’s focus on local storytelling and community-led concepts is intended to align with the New Capital’s evolving urban identity.

This agreement builds on the existing relationship between IHG and JADEER GROUP, following the earlier announcement of Hotel Indigo New Cairo. The project also adds to IHG’s pipeline in the New Administrative Capital, where InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels are planned.

IHG currently operates nine hotels in Egypt across the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites brands, with 23 additional properties in the development pipeline.

Hotel Indigo is particularly well suited to this evolving urban environment, offering a lifestyle-led experience that resonates with both business and leisure travellers. We are pleased to build on our partnership with JADEER GROUP and further strengthen our presence in this important destination.”

Mahmoud Abou Al Khair, Chairman of JADEER GROUP, added, “Our continued collaboration with IHG reflects our confidence in their global expertise and strong brand portfolio. Following the signing of Hotel Indigo New Cairo, our partnership with IHG for Hotel Indigo Cairo New Administrative Capital is a strategic addition that aligns with our vision to develop distinctive, mixed-use destinations. We believe the brand’s focus on design, culture, and neighbourhood storytelling will resonate strongly within the New Capital.”
