Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the establishment of a centre in collaboration with REACHA, Tata STRIVE, and the Indian Army in Boniyar, Baramulla, an Aspirational District of Jammu & Kashmir. The program aims to empower the youth and address the growing demand for a skilled workforce in the region.
Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at IHCL, expressed, "The significant surge in tourism in Jammu and Kashmir has created a promising opportunity for the youth. IHCL is thrilled to expand its partnership with REACHA through this project, which is aligned with IHCL's ESG+ framework of Paathya. The program equips young individuals with industry-relevant skills, enhancing their employability and contributing to the social and economic development of the region, fostering a brighter future for all."
The skill centre in Boniyar is fully equipped to train 200 learners annually. The comprehensive training program focuses on holistic professional development, providing market-related hospitality training in 'Bakery' and 'Food and Beverage service,' with access to employment opportunities for the youth. In addition to technical skills, the program instils valuable life skills, empowering participants and positively impacting their communities. Upon completion, learners will receive support for employment or entrepreneurship, ensuring a sustainable future for them and the region.
