IHCL Adds Taj Hotel in Karnataka

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Taj-branded hotel in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka. The hotel is a greenfield project.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate & Development at IHCL, stated, “With its lush rainforests, coffee estates, and easy access from key cities, Chikkamagaluru can be positioned as a world-class destination, aligning with IHCL’s strategy of putting India’s lesser known leisure locations on the global tourism map. We are delighted to partner with Arnaytive Resorts for this project.”

The Taj Chikkamagaluru spans 25 acres and has 160 rooms. It is surrounded by coffee estates and offers panoramic views of the Mullayanagiri Peak. Located just a 20-minute drive from the city centre, the hotel includes an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant, a bar, and a poolside bar. Additionally, the hotel features two swimming pools, a fitness centre, J Wellness Circle spa, a kids' club, and a library. It also caters to MICE travellers with banqueting facilities spanning over 5,000 sq. ft, including meeting rooms and a pre-function area.

IHCL will have a total of 24 hotels in Karnataka, including 9 that are currently under development, with the addition of this hotel.
