30 Michelin Stars Will be at Bangkok's 24th World Gourmet Festival

World’s top chefs and bartenders are set to converge at Anantara Siam Bangkok hotel to present the latest industry innovations in fine dining and mixology.

For food lovers, September heralds the much-anticipated annual World Gourmet Festival. Hosted by Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, the 24th instalment of Bangkok’s premier fine dining event will take place from September 4-10, 2024. This year’s grand showcase will feature the star power of 16 globally acclaimed chefs, boasting a collective 30 Michelin stars, alongside guest bartenders from Asia’s and the World’s 50 Best Bars.

World Gourmet Festival

Kicking off this year’s World Gourmet Festival is the Gala Dinner, featuring a six-course menu, each dish prepared by one of the World Gourmet Festival chefs. Representing a diverse array of cuisines from Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia and beyond, each guest chef will host a dining event at Anantara Siam’s signature restaurants. This year’s lineup features some of the world’s most celebrated Michelin-starred chefs, including:

  • Thomas Buhner: Renowned for his innovative approach to contemporary cuisine and a passion for perfection, Bühner brings his culinary mastery from La Vie by Thomas Bühner in Taipei.
  • Eric Raty: Showcasing Nordic precision with a global flair, Räty from Arbor in Hong Kong delivers intense flavours inspired by nature.
  • Matteo Ferrantino: Combining traditional Italian flavours with modern techniques, Ferrantino from Bianc in Germany offers a creative take on Mediterranean cuisine.
  • Kazuyuki Tanaka: Merging Japanese and French culinary traditions, Tanaka from Racine in France creates dishes that are a harmonious balance of flavours and textures.
  • Sang Hoon Degeimbre: Known for his innovative Belgian cuisine with Asian influences, Degeimbre from L'Air du Temps in Belgium emphasises sustainable gastronomy.
  • Louis Philippe: From France, Philippe offers his exquisite dishes that blend traditional French techniques with global flavours.
  • Henrique Sa Pessoa: Celebrating the richness of Portuguese flavours, Sá Pessoa from Alma in Lisbon combines traditional ingredients with contemporary techniques.
  • Jimmy Lim: With a visionary approach to Asian cuisine, Lim from JL Studio in Taiwan pushes culinary boundaries.
  • Rishi Naleendra: Blending global influences with local ingredients, Naleendra from Cloudstreet in Singapore offers a unique culinary perspective.
  • Stefan Stiller: From Taian Table in Shanghai, Stiller offers a harmonious blend of classic European flavours with Asian finesse.
  • Viki Geunes: Known for his meticulous attention to detail, Geunes from Zilte in Antwerp delivers innovative dishes that elevate familiar flavours.
  • Mark Donald: Celebrating Scottish gastronomy, Donald from The Glenturret Restaurant in Scotland crafts bold and creative dishes.
  • Guillaume Lopvet: A Master of Pastry Arts and head chef at Valrhona - South Pacific, Lopvet blends traditional French techniques to produce visually stunning and irresistibly delicious creations.
  • Wei Loon Tan: A World Pastry Champion, Tan from Malaysia will host exclusive afternoon tea sessions, showcasing his mastery in modern French pastry, sugar art and chocolate displays.

Complementing the culinary excellence, this year’s World Gourmet Festival will feature a stellar lineup of guest shift bartenders from Asia's and the World’s 50 Best Bars, taking over Aqua Bar every night throughout the event: Colin Chia from Nutmeg & Clove, Singapore; Jon Lee from Penrose, Kuala Lumpur; Raiza Carnejo from Agite Club, Spain; Elizabeth Bello and Bernardo Jimenez from TLECAN, Mexico; Michito Kaneko from Lamp Bar, Japan, and Niks Anuman from G.O.D Bangkok.

This year’s grand showcase will feature 16 globally acclaimed chefs

For a better cause, a portion of every dinner ticket sold and proceeds from the auctions, which take place throughout the World Gourmet Festival, will be donated to the Foundation for the Welfare of Rajavithi-Girls’ Home Under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali that provides quality education, medical care and life skills training for disadvantaged young girls across Thailand. On September 27-28, in an extension to the festival’s main programme, Anantara Siam’s sister property in Chiang Mai and Anantara’s signature Bangkok dinner cruise, Loy Pela Voyages, will host exclusive dinners by two renowned chefs. Enrico Marmo from Balzi Rossi in Italy will present his take on Italian cuisine at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort, while Portuguese maestro Louis Anjos will offer his unique culinary vision at Loy Pela Voyages.
