IHCL's Latest Venture
The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new Taj hotel in Ranchi, Jharkhand. This project will be developed on a six-acre land parcel leased from the State Government of Jharkhand, marking IHCL's first foray into Ranchi.
Puneet Chhatwal, managing director and chief executive officer of IHCL, expressed excitement about the expansion, stating, “We are delighted to bring the iconic Taj brand to Ranchi, a city with immense growth potential. This signing aligns with the strategy of building our presence in the region, which is fast developing into a significant industrial, commercial, and cultural hub.”
The 200-key Taj Ranchi will be located in Dhurwa, offering excellent connectivity and visibility. The hotel will provide guests modern amenities, including banqueting areas, diverse food and beverage options, and a wellness centre.
Ranchi is undergoing infrastructural developments to become a smart city. The hotel’s location within the Core Capital Area will be in the heart of the city's new central business district, near the Vidhan Sabha, government offices, and corporate headquarters. With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 6 hotels in Jharkhand, including one under development.
