Ahead of World Chocolate Day on July 7, Emirates has announced that its customers consumed 60 million chocolates onboard in the past year—a 2 million increase from the previous year.

Emirates serves a range of chocolates as part of its meal service across all cabins on flights to 140 destinations. In the past year, passengers in Economy Class enjoyed 36.6 million chocolates, while Premium Economy passengers consumed 1.06 million. Business Class passengers indulged in 9.1 million chocolates, and First Class passengers enjoyed approximately 13.4 million chocolates, served through 122,000 large gourmet boxes.

Chocolate Brands Onboard

Emirates rotates its chocolate selection every six months, featuring global chocolatiers such as Coco Jalila (UAE), Valrhona (France), and Canonica and Neuhaus (Belgium). Selection criteria include chocolate type, taste, texture, popularity, trends, and sustainable sourcing.

Chocolate Desserts and Treats

Passengers across all classes can also enjoy chocolate desserts and hot chocolate from the onboard menu. Examples include:

  • First Class: Pistachio and chocolate mousse cake, chocolate fondant, and vegan chocolate tart.

  • Business Class: Avocado chocolate tart, banana mango and milk chocolate dome, and mocha marquise wedge.

  • Premium Economy: Chocolate mousse cake with passion fruit core.

On long-haul flights, snack trays offer chocolate bars and festive chocolate lollipops for children. First-class goodie baskets include Lindt dark chocolate, and the A380 Onboard Lounge features chocolate cakes, M&M’s, and other chocolate treats.
