Lufthansa Group’s Latest Route Additions

The Lufthansa Group is increasing its connection to Berlin Brandenburg Airport by adding a new direct route to Geneva. SWISS will begin operating daily flights from Berlin (BER) to Geneva on October 28. Additionally, Eurowings has been steadily growing its presence at Berlin (BER) in 2024. In just six months, the Lufthansa Group subsidiary expanded its service from Berlin to 30 locations in Europe and the Gulf area. The number of passengers has increased by over 100% since the outbreak.

Eurowings will resume providing a nonstop service between Berlin and Dubai in winter. The frequency will grow from four times per week to a daily connection starting in October 2024. This implies that there will be an extra Eurowings aircraft based at BER; there are already six, and there will be seven shortly. Additionally, in the winter, Eurowings will begin offering three weekly flights from Berlin to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The biggest leisure airline in Germany intends to grow its network starting in Berlin in 2025.

The Lufthansa Group dominates the market in Berlin. Currently, Austrian, Brussels, Eurowings, Lufthansa, and SWISS, the Group’s airlines, account for about 27% of all flights at BER. With over 500 weekly flights, the Lufthansa Group offers nonstop service between the capital region and 36 destinations. Travelers from Berlin can visit more than 300 locations globally with just one transfer.
