As autumn approaches, American Airlines is preparing to launch five new routes to Europe for next summer. The airline will resume flights to Edinburgh, Scotland, for the first time since 2019. Additionally, American Airlines plans to introduce new routes to Athens, Greece; Madrid, Spain; Milan; and Rome.
"We are excited to offer customers additional options for travelling to their favourite European destinations next summer," said Brian Znotins, American's Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning. Restarting flights to Edinburgh and introducing new routes to other popular destinations throughout the continent will provide customers with convenient access from American's highly regarded domestic network to all Europe has to offer."
Tickets will be available beginning September 9 on its official website and mobile app.
More New Ways to Explore Europe
Customers from Philadelphia can connect to over 80 destinations across the United States and 17 trans-Atlantic destinations. This includes a new service to Edinburgh, which will provide travellers with convenient access to Scotland's impressive castles and breathtaking natural landscapes.
American Airlines will add new routes to Italy next year. They will offer new services from Miami (MIA) to FCO and Philadelphia (PHL) to MXP. By 2025, American Airlines will operate flights to FCO from six different U.S. airports, more than any other U.S. airline. This will provide customers with the most one-stop flight options from various parts of the U.S. to explore Italy's rich history and delicious cuisine.
With a new service from Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT) to ATH, American will offer four daily flights to Greece in 2025, providing access to Greece from more U.S. airports than any other airline next summer.
For the first time, American Airlines will connect its Chicago hub with Madrid (MAD). American offers the most flights of any U.S. airline to Spain. Customers will now have the opportunity to expand their travel options with connections to onward destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa through American's partner airlines.
American is giving customers more time to see the sights
In the summer of 2025, American Airlines will provide over 70 daily flights to more than 20 trans-Atlantic destinations. In 2024, American will reintroduce flights to Copenhagen, Denmark; Naples, Italy; and Nice, France for the 2025 summer travel season.
Customers who dream of visiting iconic landmarks and museums in Paris will have more opportunities to travel to the French capital by extending winter seasonal service from MIA into the summer. American will also expand operations on three other trans-Atlantic routes to give customers more time to travel to top European destinations.
More Premium Seats to Asia
Next summer, American Airlines will be increasing the capacity on four routes to Asia for travelers flying across the Pacific. They will be using larger aircraft on all flights from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Los Angeles (LAX) to Japan, providing customers with enhanced access to Tokyo and beyond. In addition, American's partners will be offering codeshare services, allowing customers to easily reach over 30 more destinations across Japan and East Asia with just one stop.
