Akasa Air has launched a new direct flight from Mumbai to Riyadh, The new flight commenced on June 15 with the first flight departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai at 10:20 PM IST and touching down at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 12:15 AM AST. This addition marks Riyadh as the second Saudi destination in Akasa Air’s expanding network.
Besides, Akasa Air has secured rights to operate in three additional international destinations: Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Medina. This expansion is part of the airline’s strategy to strengthen its international footprint in the upcoming months.
The inaugural service was celebrated warmly upon its arrival in Riyadh, with leaders from both Akasa Air and King Khalid International Airport present to mark this significant milestone.
Global Expansion
Akasa Air has expanded its operations globally, starting with its inaugural international flight to Doha, Qatar, on March 28, 2024. The airline further broadened its reach by initiating flights to Jeddah in May 2024, and recently announced its plans to begin services to Riyadh. This expansion supports the Saudi Arabian government’s objective to boost international connections and aims to increase air passenger traffic significantly and handle 5 million tons of cargo by 2030.
