TAT Showcases Thailand via The Challenge 42

Tourism Authority of Thailand has partnered with the production team behind Season 42 of The Challenge, which was filmed in Thailand and is scheduled to premiere on Paramount+ on 5 August 2026. The collaboration forms part of TAT’s film-tourism strategy to present Thailand’s destinations, culture, and travel experiences to global audiences through international entertainment platforms.

TAT Partners with The Challenge Season 42

The season was filmed across Bangkok and Thailand’s eastern seaboard, including Pattaya and Chon Buri, placing the country at the centre of the show’s setting and narrative. Urban environments, coastal scenery, and outdoor landscapes serve as the backdrop for the competition, offering viewers a range of visual experiences linked to Thailand’s tourism offering.

TAT stated that collaborations with global productions help increase international visibility, support filming activity, and encourage travel interest by connecting audiences with destinations featured on screen.

Season 42 of The Challenge continues the long-running competition format, bringing together 24 contestants who compete in physical and mental challenges for a prize of US$500,000. The series is hosted by T.J. Lavin and produced by Justin Booth, with Thailand contributing to the overall setting and production environment. Additional details related to the partnership and filming locations are expected to be announced ahead of the premiere.

Justin Booth, Executive Producer of The Challenge, said, “Going into Season 42, we wanted to showcase not only the competition fans know and love, but also the incredible sense of place that Thailand brings to the series. From the vibrant energy of Bangkok to the stunning coastal landscapes of Pattaya and Chon Buri, Thailand elevated every aspect of the season. We’re excited for viewers around the world to experience the country alongside the competition and discover what makes it such a remarkable destination.”
