Emirates Aviation University Celebrates 35th Graduation Ceremony
Emirates Aviation University (EAU) marked its 35th graduation ceremony, celebrating the achievements of 154 students who are preparing to join the global aviation workforce. Since its establishment in 1991, EAU has graduated over 26,000 students, many of whom now work in various roles across the aviation industry, both locally and internationally.
The graduation ceremony was led by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, and Chancellor of EAU, who presented certificates to the graduates. The event was attended by Emirates Group executives, university faculty, and the families and friends of graduates.
Diverse Academic Backgrounds
This year’s graduates represent more than 25 nationalities and various undergraduate and postgraduate disciplines, including aviation management, aviation safety, air transport management, aerospace, and aeronautical engineering.
Institutional Role and Outlook
HH Sheikh Ahmed highlighted EAU’s role in supporting the aviation sector through education, research, and community initiatives. He reaffirmed the Emirates Group’s continued investment in the university’s future.
Vice-Chancellor’s Remarks
Professor Ahmad Al Ali, Vice-Chancellor of EAU, noted that graduates are entering the aviation industry during a time of transition and opportunity. He emphasized that their skills and knowledge will play a role in meeting the sector’s growing need for trained professionals.
Internship Programme and Recognition
Over the past four years, more than 650 undergraduate students have participated in internships with the Emirates Group, gaining practical experience as part of their studies. Each internship counts for up to 15 credit hours toward their degrees.
Among the graduates, 19 students were recognized for their academic performance across different fields of study. The 2024 cohort includes 24 postgraduate and 130 undergraduate students, including several sponsored by Emirates.
