Lufthansa Group Expands Status Benefits with ITA Airways Lounge Access
Starting July 1, 2025, Lufthansa Group Frequent Travellers will gain access to ITA Airways lounges, further aligning status privileges across the Group. This move enhances the lounge network for customers, particularly for travel to and through Italy.
Access to ITA Airways lounges in Milan, Rome, and Catania has already been available to Senators and HON Circle Members since March. The latest update extends this benefit to all status customers, supporting a more consistent travel experience across Lufthansa Group airlines.

Lounge Access: Frequent Travellers can now use ITA Airways lounges in addition to Lufthansa Group lounges.

Priority Services: All status customers flying with ITA Airways receive priority check-in, extra baggage allowance, and priority on waiting lists.

Additional Perks: Senators and HON Circle Members enjoy fast lane access, priority boarding, expedited baggage handling, and complimentary seat reservations.
Recent Improvements for ITA Airways Passengers:

Since February 2025, Miles & More members have been able to earn and redeem miles on ITA Airways flights, including Points, Qualifying Points, and HON Circle Points for Business Class.

In March, ITA Airways relocated to Terminal 1 in Frankfurt and Terminal 2 in Munich, aligning with other Lufthansa Group network carriers.

The 2025 summer schedule introduced codeshare options for over 100 intra-European routes, with long-haul codeshares launching July 1, 2025.

ITA Airways is also expected to join Star Alliance in early 2026, further integrating the airline into the Group’s global network.
Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa Group, said the expanded status benefits are part of broader efforts to provide a consistent and convenient experience across member airlines. Marcus Frank, Vice President Loyalty, emphasized that the changes aim to add value for loyal customers through continued improvements to the Group’s loyalty program.
