46th World Heritage Committee in India

The 46th World Heritage Committee was kickstarted in New Delhi on July 21, 2024. Addressing the audience at the opening ceremony, PM Narendra Modi spoke of India's heritage and the crucial role it can play in inviting more visitors and tourists to India.

The ceremony featured big names from the tourism and heritage industries, such as Gajendra Singh Shekhawat (Minister of Tourism & Culture), Suresh Gopi (Minister of State Tourism), Diya Kumari (Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan), and Vishal Sharma (Ambassador of India to UNESCO). UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay was also present.

The event will run for 10 days and include delegates from more than 150 countries. Day 1 of the Committee was organized at Hall 14, Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The exhibition celebrates India’s vast cultural legacy.
