Economic and Social Benefits:

  • The focus on spiritual tourism in Bihar and Odisha is expected to create local economic zones and foster job creation in the hospitality, retail, and services sectors. This influx of visitors will boost demand for local products and services, providing a significant income source for artisans, small businesses, and informal sector workers.
  • Moreover, spiritual tourism is likely to have the potential to drive inclusive growth. Generating employment and business opportunities in rural areas can help stem urban migration and contribute to regional development. The emphasis on sustainable tourism practices can also ensure that economic benefits do not come at the cost of environmental degradation, preserving these sacred sites for future generations.
