Due to the heatwave, the demand for air-conditioned trains is notably high, with a 10% increase in searches for AC trains compared to last year. This reflects the priority given to passenger comfort during the summer travel season. Data from IRCTC shows a significant shift towards AC bookings in Q3FY24, with AC class bookings reaching 550 lakhs compared to 456 lakhs for non-AC and 140 lakhs for the second sitting, highlighting the clear preference for AC travel.
