Since Christmas, Uttarakhand has seen a massive influx of tourists, leading to a significant rise in hotel bookings. Over 90 percent of rooms in nearly all major hotels across the state are fully booked until the New Year.

Most tourist spots in the Garhwal Mandal are overcrowded with New Year revellers, as visitors are opting for camps, resorts, homestays, and hotels. Many people are arriving today to celebrate New Year's Eve in Dehradun, and a taxi service has been arranged outside restaurants for those without vehicles. The police have instructed all restaurant and bar operators to provide such arrangements for their patrons.

This influx of tourists has persisted for the last two to three days, resulting in many hotels being fully booked on December 31 and January 1, 2025. Dehradun is among the most popular cities for celebrating New Year's Eve, and the restaurants, bars, and pubs are already experiencing large crowds.

Many patrons tend to drink and may be unable to drive after late-night celebrations, so the police have directed restaurant and bar operators to provide taxis for them. Additionally, those who arrive at the restaurants using public transport can also take advantage of these taxi services.

SSP Ajay Singh mentioned that restaurant, bar, and pub operators have been instructed to make the necessary arrangements to help tourists return to their hotels after celebrating the New Year. Most operators have taken measures to ensure that tourists do not encounter any difficulties when returning to their accommodations after the festivities.
