Haryana May Get A Disney-Themed Amusement Park
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that the state is in talks with Disney to set up an amusement park near Manesar, Gurgaon. Approximately 500 acres of land near Pachgaon Chowk have been identified for the project, situated close to the KMP Expressway and Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, making it easily accessible from across the NCR.
The CM said the project would create jobs and boost tourism in the region. He also mentioned that Gurgaon was chosen due to its growing infrastructure and connectivity, including the upcoming Global City project nearby.
If approved, this will be Disney’s first official amusement park in India. A similar Disney-themed project was also announced in Navi Mumbai earlier this year.
The government is also planning to expand other tourism events, including the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra and additional editions of the Surajkund Mela.
However, the proposal has sparked some political debate. INLD leader Abhay Chautala raised concerns, recalling that similar plans in 1989 were dropped due to political opposition.
