Singapore Airlines CEO Speaks Out on SQ321 Tragedy

One passenger died, and 71 were injured when their Singapore Airlines aircraft from London to Singapore encountered extreme turbulence on Tuesday, tossing passengers and crew around the cabin and forcing the jet to make an emergency landing in Bangkok.

In a heartfelt video, Singapore Airlines CEO, Mr Goh Choon Phong,  addressed the SQ321 incident.

“We are deeply saddened by this incident and want to assure you that we are fully committed to providing all necessary support and assistance to the passengers and crew members on board SQ321, as well as their families and loved ones,” said Mr Goh.

“Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the passengers who passed away.”

A relief flight carrying 143 SQ321 passengers and crew members who could travel arrived in Singapore this morning at 05:05 hrs (Singapore Time). Another 79 passengers and six crew members from SQ321 remain in Bangkok. This includes those receiving medical care, as well as their family members and loved ones who were on the flight. Our dedicated colleagues, tirelessly providing medical assistance, emotional support, and logistical help, are on the ground, ensuring every possible support is given to them.
