Qatar Airways Unites Legends for World Cup 2026 Countdown

Qatar Airways, the official airline of the FIFA World Cup 2026, is marking the one-year countdown with a special video campaign. This campaign takes fans on a journey as the FIFA World Cup Winner’s Trophy is flown from Lusail, Qatar, to New York. The video features football legends Roberto Baggio and Romário.

They will hand-deliver football’s most prestigious prize to Roberto Baggio and Romário, who famously competed in the final of the FIFA World Cup in the U.S. in 1994. The aim of the campaign is to capture the excitement and heritage of what is regarded as one of the greatest tournaments in World Cup history.

Qatar Airways Holidays is preparing to launch exclusive travel packages for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This highly anticipated tournament will feature 48 teams competing in what will be the largest World Cup in history, with over 104 matches scheduled across 16 host cities in all three countries.
The travel packages will include international and domestic flights, transfers between cities, hotel accommodations in four- and five-star hotels, airport and stadium transfers, and match tickets. This is the first opportunity for football fans and sports enthusiasts worldwide to secure their seats for the historic FIFA World Cup 2026.
In the video, three hidden World Cup messages are available on the airline’s Instagram platform for fans to discover and comment on. Fans who follow the @qatarairways account and correctly identify the messages will be entered into a raffle. The prize is a free Qatar Airways Holidays FIFA World Cup 2026 travel package, allowing the winner to experience “The World’s Greatest Show” in person.
Qatar Airways partnered with FIFA in 2017 as part of its extensive portfolio of high-profile global sports partnerships. These partnerships include organizations and teams such as UEFA, Formula 1, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), FC Internazionale Milano, tennis legend Novak Djokovic, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), MotoGP, the IRONMAN Triathlon Series, the United Rugby Championship (URC), European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR), the French Rugby Team – Section Paloise, and the British and Irish Lions Tour of Australia in 2025. Additionally, Qatar Airways is involved in various other sports, including Australian football, equestrian events, motor racing, padel, squash, and tennis.
