Telangana's Grand Plan for Health Tourism
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that his government is considering establishing a 'health tourism hub' in Hyderabad to treat various diseases. He stated that the hub will be built on 500-1,000 acres near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on the city's outskirts, attracting well-known enterprises in the field to set up operations.
Noting that many patients from West Asia travel to India for treatment, he said the government was considering developing facilities for them. Reddy addressed Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI)'s 24th Foundation Day celebrations.
Popular Telugu actor and son of legendary N T Rama Rao's son N Balakrishna, head of BIACH&RI, and others attended the event. Observing that a person's abilities are shown when he competes with a talented player, Reddy stated that he and the authorities are now required to labour for 18 hours since TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu took office in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
