The museum, said to be a ₹650 crore project, will be built by Tata Sons and funded by Tata’s corporate social responsibility fund, reported The Times of India. The museum will aim to highlight the “history and architecture of India’s renowned temples.” The project has been under deliberation since 2023, and in September of last year, UP’s CM and other officials also gave PM Modi a presentation on the same.

The tourism department will provide land for the museum on a 90-year lease for a token amount of ₹1.”
