Delhi Airport Streamlines Baggage Transfer, Awaits Approval

According to the new baggage transfer plan, the airport will transfer the checked-in baggage of passengers from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport.

New Baggage Transfer Plan at Delhi Airport

Delhi Airport has announced a new plan for all the transferring passengers, bringing them relief. According to the new plan, the passengers arriving at Terminal 1 will not have to lug their baggage to Terminal 3 for connecting flights. Instead, the airport will transfer the luggage for the passengers internally. However, the plan is awaiting approval from Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.

If implemented, the initiative will help provide passengers with a seamless airport experience as T1 and T3 have quite a distance between them and passengers have to travel via road to reach the other end.

T1 and T2 at Indira Gandhi International Airport cater to domestic flights whereas T3 accommodates international flights. A plan is also currently in works to transfer T3 luggage to T1 for all the international arrivals who will further travel domestically.
