Grand Mercure Batam Centre Now Open

Grand Mercure has announced the launch of Grand Mercure Batam Centre. This opening signifies the Grand Mercure brand's entry into this key Indonesian hub, inviting travellers to explore Batam from a cultural perspective, where native design, regionally inspired cuisine, and genuine service come together.

Ideally situated just five minutes from Batam Centre International Ferry Terminal, which connects Batam to Singapore and Malaysia, and only a short walk from One Batam Mall, the hotel provides easy access for both business and leisure travelers. It boasts 230 rooms and suites, inspired by the island’s coastal scenery, featuring interiors that reflect the shapes of weathered stones and the patterns of tidal movements.

At Grand Mercure Batam Centre, design elements capture the cultural essence of the region, particularly highlighted by the traditional Batik Gonggong motif, prominently displayed in the hotel staff uniforms to celebrate the Riau Islands' artistic heritage. Additionally, the soothing island music in public areas creates an inviting atmosphere that enhances the sense of place.

Ambrosia, the all-day dining restaurant featuring Batam specialities such as Mie Tarempa and Luti Gendang, guides the hotel's culinary journey. Celeste Café and Lounge serves light snacks and drinks in a casual, poolside atmosphere. Various leisure amenities, including a swimming pool, a children's club, a spa, and a fitness centre, are also available.

Grand Mercure Batam Centre provides adaptable event spaces suitable for corporate and celebratory functions. Central to its meeting facilities is the Rarantira Grand Ballroom, which is among the largest in the city.

It is pillarless, has seven-metre ceilings, and can accommodate up to 1,200 guests. Other meeting rooms feature amenities and natural light, making them perfect for conferences, weddings, and social gatherings.
