One of the world’s largest hotel brands, Marriott International Inc., has opened the doors of its latest hotel, Katra Marriott Resort & Spa, in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir.
This makes it the chain’s 150th hotel to be up and running in India, a milestone achieved in around 25 years of being a leading hospitality name in the Indian market. The newly opened resort in Katra found its home in the landscape of the Trikuta Hills, commonly known as the Vaishno Devi Hills, where it offers around 100 guest rooms, cottages, suites, and a private swimming pool. The place, a purely vegetarian resort, offers a serene experience in the spiritual land known for Mata Vaishno Devi’s Shrine.
Celebrating the opening of the resort, Ranju Alex, Area Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International, stated, “As we celebrate the milestone opening of our 150th hotel in India, we acknowledge not just our prominent presence in the country, but also the unique and enriching experiences our hotels provide through their distinctive architecture and design, world-class food and beverage offerings, and curated amenities that ensure exceptional, one-of-a-kind stays.” The company also claims to have “confidence” in their brand and have steadfast plans to “advance growth through a strong pipeline of hotels.”
Other notable features of the resort are the Greatroom Lobby, Quan Spa, high tea at Vat Vriksh, fitness centre, Kid’s Club, Three Peaks Kitchen, Katra Baking Company, The Pine Ballroom, and Mulberry Hall. To make the stay comfortable and relaxing, the area’s main attractions, like Patnitop Hill Station, Krimchi Temple, Mansar Lake and much more, are easily accessible from the establishment.
