ITC, a major hospitality company, launched a luxury property in Colombo, Sri Lanka, called ITC Ratnadipa, through its subsidiary WelcomHotels Lanka (Private) Limited. The launch event was attended by Sri Lanka's President Ranil Wickramasinghe, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunewardena, and Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha.
ITC has built iconic properties across India over the years that reflect the region's unique architecture, vibrant culture, and grandeur. These hotels offer globally renowned signature cuisines and best-in-class services and have pioneered the ethos of responsible luxury.
The luxury destination takes inspiration from the national flower of Sri Lanka, the floating water lily, a recurrent motif across the hotel. This landmark complex is situated along the shores of the Indian Ocean on one side and Beira Lake on the other. The property comprises two towers connected at a height of 100 meters in a first-of-its-kind 'Ahasa' sky bridge.
ITC Ratnadipa boasts a total of 352 rooms and suites, along with sky mansions and nine restaurants and bars that are spread over a massive 40,000 square feet. The hotel's menu is inspired by local and indigenous cuisines and features raw materials that are procured from Sri Lankan local vendors. Ratnadipa marks the 16th addition to the ITC Hotel portfolio.
