IHG's Expansion in Quang Binh: Two Hotels, Double the Comfort
In the province of Quang Binh, IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced an agreement to operate two hotels in conjunction with Hai Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Royal Investment and Construction Co., Ltd (VRIC). The multiple property arrangement includes the 232-room Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Center and the 68-villa Voco Quang Binh Resort.
Next year, voco Quang Binh Resort, which recently joined Voco Ma Belle Danang in Vietnam as a well-liked option for leisure and business travellers, will open for reservations under Voco Hotels, IHG's premium brand.
Following the launches of Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay and Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Centre, Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Centre, scheduled for late 2025, will showcase the premium brand's integrated travel experience in Vietnam. With the two-hotel deal, IHG enters Quang Binh, a province known for its stunning beaches, rich cultural history, and natural beauty. Numerous well-known sites may be found there, such as Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park, which has one of the world's largest karst regions and is recognized as a UNESCO Heritage Site.
Chris Anklin, Senior Director of Development for Southeast Asia and Korea at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said, “It is lovely to be expanding into Quang Binh—an exciting new destination for IHG in Vietnam. Creating new tourism experiences with our partners perfectly showcases our intention to have hotels with the right owners in suitable locations.
“We continue to grow in Vietnam and will more than double our size in the next few years to more than 40 hotels nationwide. Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Centre, centrally located in the city centre, will offer purposeful spaces for work and leisure that appeal to the modern traveller, while Voco Quang Binh Resort, with its thoughtful, unstuffy and charming experience, will become a leading beachfront resort in the area. This destination debut will strengthen the presence of our brand portfolio in Vietnam, offering stay experiences for every type of traveller.”
Thang Hoang, CEO of Hai Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Royal Investment and Construction Co., Ltd, said: “We have found the perfect partner in IHG, which is providing us with great value through its global expertise and systems, knowledge of new builds and conversions, and a strong team with expert knowledge of second—and third-tier destinations in Vietnam.
“Quang Binh has traditionally been a domestic-led destination with a great opportunity for growth. Its magnificent beauty includes Son Doong Cave – the largest cave in the world and home to towering stalagmites – underground rivers, a jungle with wildlife, and a 116-kilometre-long coastline with picturesque beaches such as Nhat Le and Da Nhay. The entry of voco hotels and Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts in Quang Binh will elevate the attraction of the destination for travellers to stay and explore its many wonders.”
Royal Landmark, a mixed-use development featuring a commercial centre, will house Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Centre. Tan Son Nhat International Airport will be easily accessible, and it is only a 45-minute flight from Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport and a 15-minute drive from Dong Hoi Airport.
Aside from meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa, a Kids Club, an executive lounge, and four restaurants and bars, the hotel will have a riverfront position between government and business buildings in Dong Hoi. At the Voco Quang Binh Resort, travellers can enjoy two restaurants and bars, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a Kids' Club, a spa, and a resort centre. The resort also has a private beach with sea views.
