IHG Expands Portfolio with Crowne Plaza Lucknow Opening
IHG Hotels & Resorts has reached a major milestone in India with the opening of Crowne Plaza Lucknow, marking the brand’s 50th operational hotel in the country. Strategically located on Lucknow-Sultanpur Road, with convenient access to Shahid Path, the city’s new IT hub, and the cricket stadium, Crowne Plaza Lucknow is tailored for business and leisure travellers.

The hotel offers 110 rooms, more than 40,000 sq ft of event space, an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a club lounge, a fitness center, and an outdoor pool, establishing it as an ideal location for corporate events, weddings, and luxurious city retreats.

In 2024, IHG signed contracts for 18 new hotels in India, with nearly 30 percent in the premium and luxury categories. The group now has about 70 hotels under development, which includes five InterContinental, ten Crowne Plaza, and five voco properties scheduled to open within the next five years.
In accordance with Crowne Plaza’s white paper "Leading the Charge in Blended Travel," the new property caters to India’s expanding blended travel trend, where 33 percent of Indian travelers are now integrating work and leisure, the highest rate in the world.
