Himalayan Bliss: Dusit Hotels Return to India

With the planned soft opening of dusitD2 Fagu, Dusit Hotels and Resorts, a division of Dusit International, has announced its return to India. Opening in December 2024, this opulent retreat will offer a fusion of Thai hospitality and regional charm, nestled in the tranquil slopes of Fagu, close to Shimla.

Encircled by the Himalayan scenery, dusitD2 Fagu offers a haven for adventure, relaxation, and well-being. The hotel has 80 guest rooms, ranging in size from 38 to 86 square meters. Each room is decorated to combine modern amenities with traditional elements from the area and highlight views of the nearby mountains and valleys.

DusitD2 Fagu is conveniently accessible from Kalka Railway Station, which is 18 kilometres away. He is just 80 minutes from Shimla Airport and four and a half hours from Chandigarh Airport, which has daily flights from major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. The Kalka-Shimla Toy Train is accessible from this station. Fagu is well located for road travellers, just 7 km from Kufri, 20 km from Shimla, and 133 km from Chandigarh. 

Visitors staying at dusitD2 Fagu have access to neighbouring sites like the UNESCO-listed Shimla-Kalka Toy Train, Kufri, Mashobra, Narkanda, and Mahasu Peak. These locations provide a range of experiences, such as amusement parks, nature hikes, adventure sports, and cultural sites. The hotel will be home to the well-known Namm's Thai Authentic Spa. In addition, visitors can unwind in the largest temperature-controlled pool in the city, which overlooks the valley. DusitD2 Fagu will provide function spaces, including the banquet and terrace lawn in the vicinity, for meetings, weddings, and special events. The hotel's Amphitheatre, the only outdoor theatre in the area, will host events under the stars, bringing magic to any gathering. In keeping with its environmentally conscious philosophy, the hotel will also provide an EV charging station for visitors' convenience. Dining at the dusitD2 Fagu promises to be a culinary excursion. Dusit Gourmet offers a wide range of exotic specialities for all-day dining. SOI will serve rich Thai and Pan-Asian cuisine, and Fagu—The Destination Bar will let guests unwind with beverages and nibbles while taking in the scenery.

At the moment, Dusit International oversees a number of opulent villas in Goa via its subsidiary Elite Havens. In India, the company launches its first-ever Dusit-branded hotel, the 80-key dusitD2 Fagu. In addition, four more sites are scheduled to open in Karnataka by the middle of 2026.
