Crowne Plaza’s Revamped Amenities

Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts (Crowne Plaza), a member of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio, actively implements its hospitality vision with recent renovations at key hotels across the Americas. These latest improvements align Crowne Plaza’s updated offerings with guests’ evolving needs and reinforce its position as a prominent brand catering to professional and leisure travellers.

Crowne Plaza’s modern design creates distinct productivity, relaxation, and collaboration areas within its improved public and guest spaces. The upgraded guest rooms feature carefully arranged furniture and amenities, promoting an effortless shift from work to leisure. The new communal areas highlight public and private spaces for work and leisure, accommodating individual focus or collaborative efforts, complemented by appealing food and beverage options.

IHG forecasts that 70 percent of Crowne Plaza’s estates in the Americas will feature updated designs by the end of 2025, with the New Modern approach already attracting attention and resonating with guests and owners across the following properties:

  • After undergoing a significant transformation, Crowne Plaza Virginia Beach Town Center presents a refreshed guest experience featuring amenities. The hotel boasts 148 guest rooms with furnishings and décor. Its common areas—including the lobby and meeting spaces—have been redesigned to improve comfort and usability. Guests can relax in the pool area and dine at the new onsite Flagship Restaurant & Lounge, which offers coastal-inspired American dishes and crafted cocktails. Operated by National Hospitality Services, the property enhances accommodations in the centre of Virginia Beach while providing easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment.
  • The Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport Expo Center has recently completed a renovation led by the Al J. Schneider Company. All 588 guest rooms now boast furnishings and design elements. The public areas offer various dining options, including Al’s Table restaurant, The Lobby Bar, and a grab-and-go market. An updated lobby and over 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space further elevate the guest experience. Conveniently situated near Muhammad Ali International Airport, the Kentucky Exposition Center, and Churchill Downs, the Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport Expo Center provides outstanding accommodations for business and leisure travellers.
  • Crowne Plaza Seattle – Downtown completed a multi-phase renovation in late 2024. This project involved enhancements to the hotel’s exterior, lobby, and dining areas and a redesign of its 418 guest rooms. Situated near iconic Seattle attractions like Lumen Field and the Space Needle, the Crowne Plaza Seattle – Downtown features over 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space, positioning it as a perfect option for events and urban exploration.
  • Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls NY – Riverside became part of the Crowne Plaza network in late 2024, showcasing waterfront views along the Niagara River and a prime location just minutes from the renowned falls. The initial phase of this significant project, managed by Merani Holdings, involved renovating the hotel’s shared areas and 141 guest rooms, with further improvements anticipated over the next two years. Distinctive among local properties, the hotel boasts an onsite dock for easy boating access. Positioned near casinos, gourmet dining, beautiful trails, and shopping, Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls NY – Riverside provides an ideal backdrop for relaxation and adventure.
  • Crowne Plaza Orlando – Downtown has recently completed a multi-year renovation led by Vista Hospitality Group, the owner and management company. In the initial phase, the hotel’s 227 guest rooms underwent complete modernization. The final phase featured enhancements to public spaces, the exterior, and the restaurant and lounge areas. With over 8,000 square feet devoted to meetings and events, Crowne Plaza Orlando – Downtown also boasts a prime location near the Kia Center arena, Camping World Stadium, Orlando City Soccer Stadium, Universal Orlando Resort, and many other prominent attractions in the city.

Strong demand from owners and guests has strengthened Crowne Plaza’s status as one of the largest premium hotel brands globally, boasting over 400 properties open in key cities and resort areas. The brand’s aggressive growth strategy aims to add more than 36,000 rooms – the third highest for any IHG brand – across nearly 150 hotels worldwide in the upcoming years, increasing its current inventory by over 35 percent. This expansion includes a 22-story hotel set to open in Spring 2025 in New York City’s Times Square, a new 230-room hotel located on Mexico City’s renowned Avenida de los Insurgentes, and a waterfront property in Saint John, New Brunswick.
